*5-ply refers to the five layers of metal used to make Sardel cookware. There are two outer layers of stainless steel (one on the top, one on the bottom) and three inner layers (the core) of aluminum. The aluminum core allows the pan to heat up quickly and distribute heat evenly; the outer stainless steel layers allow the pan to retain heat. This combination of materials and how those materials are layered and constructed allows our cookware to heat evenly and adjust to temperature changes quickly, which gives you more control over your ingredients. The use of five layers also increases the pans durability, which is why our pans will last a lifetime.
