This lamp was designed by Paulo Rizzatto and Alberto Meda for the manufacturer Luceplan. Luceplan is a leading Italian company in the creation of luxury lighting fixtures.

Named the ”Queen” because of its size, the Luceplan Queen Tatania Pendant is an extra-large format of an icon of Luceplan production. Twice as large its dimensions and visual impact. It is designed to light large areas. The aluminium lamellar shell is made up of an ordered sequence of aluminium ribs, which reflect and dematerialize the source of light.

The lamps consist of a central lighting element with two wing-like structures to either side, consisting of a series of angled blades which diffuse heat and light.

The filters can be slotted into the lamp to introduce an element of colour. Despite its gigantic size, the lamp is surprisingly lightweight thanks to its stamped aluminium construction and its counterweight suspension which allows it to be adjusted into many positions smoothly and gracefully.

The lamp assumes different shapes depending on the angle. It is transparent if seen head-on and solid seen from the side.

The use of a pair of filters to the sides of the source of light allows the body of the lamp to change colour without interfering with the emission of the white.

It makes a marvellous centrepiece for offices, lobbies and hallways with high ceilings.
