A traditional Armenian wool Esfahan weave rug in black. This Cloudband #019B Sheared rug was made in Armenia of 100% Armenian wool using the Tufenkian Esfahan weave. The pile is sheared and has a height around a quarter of an inch. This traditional rug is a great example of how Tufenkian has reinterpreted designs first introduced over 300 years ago. The cloudband, or ribbon design, continues to be popular in Armenian design commonly found on tribal rugs and is seen throughout the pattern of this rug. The field is a rich black with accents in red, blue, beige and grey.
