The poster was published in connection with the Picasso exhibition in Louisiana in 1981the 100th year of Picasso’s birth.

Louisiana has a special relationship with Picasso and the museum’s first major Picasso exhibition took place as early as 1968. Throughout its more than 60-year history, Louisiana has held six more exhibitions with the great mastermost recently, Picasso Ceramics, in 2018.

Two running women on the beach is from a period when Picasso returned to the human figure, classicism and antiquityand here with experimental inspirations from theater and ballet.
