As Ellen Ehk kesson was asked to create an art object in honor of Ulrica Hydman Vallien’s artistry, the magnificent Ticka was born. The object became part of Kosta Boda’s 2021 tribute collection to the late Hydman Vallien. Ticka, available in a limited edition of 100 pieces, is a vessel from Ellens own imagination based on the same shape as Ulricas Snake Bowl.

I wanted to make something of my own, but with a connection to Ulricas art. For the tribute collection, I was inspired by the directness of her approach and style. The vessel symbolizes a tree trunk. Its covered with modeled polypore mushrooms, called Ticka in Swedish hence the name. Ellen Ehk kesson
